Tag: The Perfect Book

Hey all,

I would normally do my wrap-up for April today but it generally takes me ages and it’s my last weekend with my husband until July 25th so I felt like doing something shorter. I’m in a moooooood when he has to leave, I try not to be annoying of course because it’s our last few days together, but I just generally feel down and a bit depressed.

But the good thing is that Sara @ The Bibliophagist tagged me in the Perfect Book tag and I’ve been super excited to do it ever since, so it’s the perfect tag for today (perfect book, perfect tag, see the pun here? I’m so not funny haha (๑>ᴗ<๑) )

The Rules

  1. Answer honestly, there are no wrong answers
  2. To make it just a little harder, you can’t mention the same book twice
  3. Have FUN!
  4. Tag Sofii if you decide to do it, She would love to see your answers
  5. Tag at least 5 people

My Take

THE PERFECT GENRE

pick a book that perfectly represents its genre

Stay Sweet
Stay Sweet by Siohban Vivian is the perfect YA contemporary, the perfect summer read, with just the right amount of romance and an amazing friendship.

THE PERFECT SETTING

pick a book that takes place in a perfect place

The Truth About Happily Ever After.jpeg

The Truth about Happily Ever After by Karole Cozzo is set in a Disneyland-like AMUSEMENT PARK, it is THE BEST!!! I adored that book, it was a lot of fun and I just can’t insist enough on how happy it made me to read it.

THE PERFECT MAIN CHARACTER

pick the perfect main character

The Female of the Species.jpeg

Alex from The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis is me in my super saiyan form. First, we have the same name, and 2nd, she’s the version of me I would be if I was brave enough. She stands for her beliefs and I agree that sometimes you have to take matters in your own hands. Plus she loves animal so….

THE PERFECT BEST FRIEND

loyal and supportive, pick a character that you think is the best friend ever

35018916

Amanda from the Crimson Lake series by Candice Fox is the best. She offers a job to Ted when he is the most hated man in Australia, stands by him and tries to prove him innocent. And she is quirky, intelligent, socially awkward and hilarious.

THE PERFECT LOVE INTEREST

pick a character you think would be an amazing romantic partner

6863668.jpg

Jericho Barrons in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, my heart rate is spiking just thinking about him, and I read that book about 5 years ago. *Swooning*

THE PERFECT VILLAIN

pick a character with the most sinister mind

12078802.jpg

The ending of Karin Slaughter ‘s Kisscut was horrifying because it’s realistic and you just know that some people would actually be that evil in real life. The villains in this one are pure malevolence. Very dark thriller!

THE PERFECT FAMILY

pick a perfect bookish family

When We Collided.jpeg

Jonah’s family from When We Collided by Emery Lord is the perfect balance of fun and caring, I want to meet them.

THE PERFECT ANIMAL OR PET

pick a pet or fantastic animal that you need to see on a book

princess-6-1024x550.png

I love forest gods, kind of the one in Mononoke Hime, and wish I could read a book with forest creatures protecting their environment

THE PERFECT PLOT TWIST

pick a book with the best plot twist

Luckiest Girl Alive.jpeg

I hated the beginning of Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll because the main character was detestable, but then we learn about what happened in the past and my jaw dropped.

THE PERFECT TROPE

pick that trope you would add to your own book without thinking

27824826

The “back to the small town where I grew up” trope, I’m a sucker for that one! I especially love thriller set in small towns, like The Dry by Jane Harper, which I am currently reading.

THE PERFECT COVER

pick that cover that you would easily put in your own book

State of Sorrow.jpeg

State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury. I haven’t read the book yet but it’s so pretty!

THE PERFECT ENDING

pick a book that has the perfect ending

7159515

Still Missing by Chevy Stevens has a sucker-punch ending, the big reveal made me so mad!!! It was an amazing book.

This was a lot of fun and reminded me of many amazing books I had read, but as I’m cynical it also made me realize that I would like to do the “Worst book” tag where I find the worst book in each of the categories. Wouldn’t it be fun? ( ☆ω☆ )
